This painting displays a garlic bulb, half peeled to expose the cloves, alongside a seasoning bowl balanced on its edge. The bowl is balanced to add to the sense of delicacy within the painting to complement the fragile nature of the skin of the garlic bulb. The image captured within the painting will only last a moment before the garlic bulb is broken open to reveal the cloves within.
